Function of the Position:
This is a technical management position overseeing the Information Technology
Department, responsible for leading a team of local IT professionals in
the development, configuration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure,
software solutions, and products supporting business customers and a
unique community of internal scientific experts and external scientific
collaborators. This technical management position works closely with a
USP corporate IT organization on shared IT strategy, systems, and
services.

Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and at least 10 years of professional experience designing and managing data centers, IT systems, and IT services. Experience must include a minimum of five years of experience in managing IT operational teams.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Training and Experience:
Experience managing information technology teams and implementing enterprise technology solutions. Experience managing annual budgets. Knowledgeable of current practices and tools supporting the full life cycle of enterprise architecture and systems development and maintenance. Ability to collect qualitative and quantitative data to help drive process improvement and high performing IT service levels. Skilled in performing gap and needs analyses with the ability to provide valuable IT services to the organization and to continuously improve those services. Knowledgeable of IT security best practices. Knowledgeable of Intel server, Storage Area Networks, data backup and restoration technologies and Internet Protocol LAN/WAN networking. Familiarity with ERP and RDBMS systems. Experienced managing a staff training plan that supports strategic objectives. Skilled in writing requests for proposals and statements of work for vendor services as well as developing criteria for evaluating vendor proposals. Knowledge of scalable, highly available system requirements and designing solutions to meet IT service reliability requirements. Experience withITIL methodologies and Systems Development Life Cycle. Possesses excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as excellent presentation, communication, leadership and team building skills.
